Family Fire Pit Festival

Gather round the fire pit and enjoy a wintertime adventure! Explore the whole site to discover unique activities at each of our special fire pits from the Parade Ground to the High Battery. Meet a Revolutionary War or Civil War soldier, or listen to a ghost story! Check out the 2020 Eagle Scout projects bringing bat and bird boxes to enhance the site.  BYO camp chairs and refreshments if desired. If you get cold outside despite the fires, head into the Soldier’s Barracks to enjoy Affectionately Yours: Four Centuries of Military Love Letters pop-up exhibit. Guided Tours or gallery talks (11 am, 1 pm) will highlight the contributions of African Americans to Fort Mifflin's history from the 18th to the 20th century. Masks and social distancing required.
