ABOUT ABOUT

Get your Independence Week celebrations started in style while supporting interpretation and education at a Revolutionary War Battlefield!

In the days preceding the ratification of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, not all debate took place in the Pennsylvania State House (now known as Independence Hall.) Much of it happened after hours in the local taverns! Now it’s up to YOU to consider the finer points of the Declaration! Perhaps Thomas Paine will bring some “Common Sense” to the table. Hear Pennsylvania’s own John Dickenson debate with his constituents, enjoy tavern games, craft beer and authentic punch. Don't arouse the suspicion of any Redcoat soldiers that may be lurking in the shadows. Period attire welcome but not required. Revolutionary Revelry! Music! Tavern games, musket drills and so much more!

BYO picnic supper. Complimentary non alcoholic beverages. Your admission ticket includes a sample of an authentic 18th century beer or small cup of punch. Additional bar tickets and hearty snacks available for $5. No outside beverages permitted.

Extend the experience and stay over! Very limited (reserved groups socially distant) dormitory style accommodations available, or pitch a tent on the parapet! This is a unique opportunity for families and individuals to experience the “spirit” of the Fort overnight!

Are you a reenactor in the Continental Line or British Brigade? Plan to attend in kit? Call the office for special instructions and your discount.

Profits from this unique event support interpretation and education programs at National Historic Landmark Fort Mifflin. Donations are appreciated.
